Xin Xin Lecture

This lecture gave me insight into all the different ways that our privacy is compromised as soon as we go online. Although there are a lot of ways, as shown by Xin Xin during Tuesday's lecture, to combat companies and governments that might harvest our data for their own purposes, I don't think that I'll be using any of these methods in the future. Even though I don't agree with how my data is being collected and used, the small benefits are just enough to get me to not care. I personally don't put a lot of value on my online presence and I don't take my social media very seriously at all. On a larger scale, however, I do want companies like Facebook, Twitter, etc to be more transparent about their use of user data. But personally, their use of my data doesn't bother me.
